Become a trainee

The education as a forwarding agent is an alternating training, where the practical training in the company together with the more theoretical training at a vocational school ensure that the trainee acquires a special and all-round knowledge with in the area.

Andreas Andresen A/S recruits typically in January/ February starting 1 August and in the autumn starting 1 February / 1 March.

The training requires the following levels from a business college examination:

  • Danish (C)
  • Foreign language (D and E, respectively)
  • Business economics (E)
  • IT (C)
  • Sales and Service (D)
  • Social studies (D)

As a trainee you will be attached to one department and to the person responsible for education in the department in question. In co-operation with the trainee, the person responsible for the education and the Human Resource department will prepare a training plan for the whole period. This is done to ensure that the training will be as broad-based as possible.

The theoretical part of the training takes place at the following schools: IBC, Kolding, Århus Købmandsskole or Roskilde Handelsskole and is spread over 9 school weeks, which are evenly distributed during the period of training, like this:

  • 1 week: Introduction to forwarding
  • 2 weeks: Forwarding in general
  • 2 weeks: Transport by road
  • 1 week: Warehouse / terminal
  • 1 week: Logistics 1
  • 1 week: Logistics 2
  • 1 week: Transport law

The theoretical part of the training is concluded with a main task (final vocational test).
