History
Andreas Andresen A/S was founded in 1916 in Vamdrup by C. G.
Søndergaard. In 1920, he moved the company to Padborg at a time
when shipping and forwarding were still relatively unknown
concepts. Andreas Andresen, who took over the company in 1928,
managed it until his death in 1976. The company remained in the
family and continued under the control of Luise Andresen until her
death in 1992, where responsibility for the operations of the
company was transferred to a fund.
The company originally transported livestock and agricultural
machinery. This was later followed by foodstuffs and
industrial.
In Padborg, Andreas Andresen A/S was run from a small office near
the railway. At this time, the company only had 3 employees. The
office was so cramped that two of them had to stand up if the
person sitting farthest from the door wished to get out!

In 1957 Andreas Andresen built a new head office
on Jernbanegade 12 and in 1965 the company constructed
the first part of the cold store, Padborg Frysehus. This cold
store was originally only 1,700 m² on area, now consists
of 20,000 m3 of space.
In 1985, Andreas Andresen A/S had 15 vehicles. In addition, the
company had 38 additional hired vehicles in service on a full-time
basis. At that time Andreas Andresen A/S had around 100 employees
working at the head office in Padborg and the branch offices in
Hvidovre, Rødby and Flensburg. Gradually Andreas Andresen A/S
specialised almost exclusively in the transport and shipping of
foodstuffs.
In 1986 Andreas Andresen took over the trucking
company Junker og Co A/S, and in the 1990's the market
areas were exanded to include Russia and branch offices were
established in St. Petersburg, Moscow and Klaipeda (Lithuania).
Work on the new head office was completed in 1992. In the
late 1990s the workforce had grown to some 220 employees divided
between the head office and the branch offices in St. Petersburg
and Moscow and Klaipeda. The company employed 65 permanent
export hauliers.
In an attempt to address the challenges stemming from the
significant changes in the structure of the transport industry in
the late 1990s, Andreas Andresen A/S purchased the HST Padborg A/S
company as of 1 January 1999. The whole group employed about 550
employees and had a turnover of DKK. 500 millions. The group had at
that time about 250 own trucks, 500 own and leased trailers
and considerable cold and dry cargo storage facilities and washing
facilities at its disposal. Therefore, Andreas Andresen A/S was
already at that time one of the market leaders in Denmark as
regards transports of temperature-controlled goods and logistics
solutions to / from Western- and Eastern Europe, Scandinavia,
Russia and the Baltic States.
In 2002 Andreas Andresen A/S entered into a co-operation
with Kraftverkehr Nagel, which at the same time became joint
owner of teh company.
To strengthen its position on the Central Europe market, where the
company already belongs to one of the leading companies, Andreas
Andresen A/S took over the company Holger Pagh Sellerup ApS in June
2003. In this connection a branch office was established in Børkop
near by Vejle.
In October 2003 Andreas Andresen A/S took over 50 % of the shares
in KK Transport Struer. Andreas Andresen A/S is known for its
international set-up, whereas KK Transport Struer is known for
national distribution of temperature regulated goods. Thus, it is
two companies which supplement each other well and with the
establishment of the new co-operative company, we will be able to
provide complete national and international solutions.
KK Transport Struer, which, as mentioned, is partly owned by
Andreas Andresen A/S, has taken over 90% of the shares in EKV
Transport A/S, Hørning as from 01.05.2004. EKV Transport A/S is
known for its big activity within national distribution of
foodstuffs. As KK Transport Struer also undertakes national
distribution of foodstuffs, it was a natural extension of KK's big
national network and a valuable supplement to Andreas Andresen A/S'
far-reaching international activities.
Together the companies have a size which makes them able to provide
a national as well as an international set-up covering all needs
within distribution of foodstuffs.
In 2004 the cold store terminal on Thorsvej was
enlarged from 8,000 m2 to 15,000 m2, and as a natural
part of the structural change Kraftverkehr Nagel took over 75
% of the shares in Andreas Andresen A/S in 2006. The same
year Andreas Andresen A/S took over 51 % of the shares
in Trans Mar A/S. Now Andreas Andresen A/S had a complete
concept for transport of fish products. It was also in 2006
that the continued growth in Andreas Andresen A/S was marked by the
fact that the turnover passes DKK. 1 billion.
In 2007 Andreas Andresen A/S took over all shares
in Trans Mar A/S and by the end of 2007 the Andreas
Andresen-group employed 1,000 employees and had a turnover of
DKK. 1.5 billion.
In 2008 the office in Padborg was enlarged to 5,000 m2 and the
management and administration for Andreas Andresen
and Trans Mar A/S were gathered under the same roof.
For the time being the group has more than 400 own trucks
and 800 own trailers.
